SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COUNCIL

In June 4, 2004 following the administrative reorganization of VIRAC, it was decided that the past series of the VIRAC SAC meetings will not be continued. The new VIRAC Statutes foresee a different format of an international advisory body, which in practice will take over many of the SAC functions.

Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) meetings play important role at the VIRAC strategic planning. Note that the VIRAC SAC is only advisory not executive therefore it does not hold any legal or financial obligations or liabilities.

The VIRAC SAC meetings are run by the SAC chairperson and scientific secretary, both elected for a period of five years. At present they are:
